Shakesbeer’s A Midsummer Night’s Dram

The Wit’s Shakesbeer presents an original 60-minute adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic romp, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” with beer, love, hate, fairies, buffoonery, and even more beer. In true Shakesbeer fashion, actors imbibe alongside the audience before and throughout the show and hijinks ensue!

Biergarten Festival

When: July 7th – 9th
Where: T.E.V Edelweiss Club

This family-friendly cultural event offers traditional German food, entertainment, live music, dance groups, and of course beer. The event is open to the public and provides an atmosphere of German summer family time together, reminiscent of the times families spent in the Biergartens throughout Germany. The event will offer several games and activities for the children. This year’s Biergarten Festival has added more music, more beer and more entertainment.

Showcasing our city’s top independent restaurants organized by neighborhood, The Big Eat marks the opening of Slow Food Nations weekend and a banner year for Denver’s dining scene. Copper Mountain Music Festival

Nothing quite compares to a music festival with friends and family in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. From July 7 – 9, the 3rd annual Copper Mountain Music Fest features bluegrass and Americana artists from around the country. The weekend offers not only free music from highly-acclaimed musicians but workshops, jam sessions with fellow music enthusiasts, outdoor adventures topped off with celebratory fireworks. Activities include: unlimited access to mini golf, scenic chairlift ride and bike haul, digglers (scooters), bumper boats, hydro bikes, the climbing wall and bungee, go kart ride, and a zip line.

Lavender Festival

Where: Denver Botanic Gardens, Chatfield Farms

Lavender Festival celebrates the Lavender Garden at Chatfield Farms. The garden was planted in 2015 and has more than 800 lavender plants, creating a gorgeous backdrop for this family-friendly event.

Lavender products made by local growers and artisans are available for purchase. Buy tickets for hayrides, barrel train rides, face painting and more. Enjoy a variety of food, dessert and drink vendors. Educational programs on lavender and related topics are available for an additional charge. Seats are limited and advance registration is highly recommended. Walk-ups for classes are welcome if the class is not sold out.

SummerFest is a two-day community fine arts and crafts festival held outdoors. Now in its 38th year, SummerFest kicks off Arts Alive Evergreen, a ten-day visual and performing arts showcase. With over 100 artists from all over the country, SummerFest provides fun for all ages. In addition to great art, enjoy local food, live music, special performances, and a children’s activity area.

Denver County Fair

The Denver County Fair is back and under new ownership. The Western Stock Show Association purchased the fair in February 2017 and is committed to continuing the unique event while adding some features as only National Western can do.    

The urban county fair offers affordable family fun while showcasing Denver’s unique character and culture.  Bring the family and enjoy the largest DCF carnival yet, with more than 20 amusement rides, pony rides, camel rides, and unicorn rides.  The indoor/outdoor fair will include over 12 unique pavilions, 6 stages with a variety of programming, local bands and talents, a ukulele contest, live contests that test your know-how and hot dog, pie, and bug-eating contests.

Colorado Music Festival – Beethoven’s Ninth

Jean-Marie Zeitouni conducts Beethoven’s grand Ninth Symphony, with its iconic finale, “Ode to Joy” featuring nationally acclaimed opera singers, including Grammy-winning mezzo soprano Michelle DeYoung, soprano Mary Wilson, tenor Jason Baldwin, and former University of Colorado football player/Metropolitan Opera singer Keith Miller, bass-baritone.
